Love and Self

Love of oneself and love of others are closely related. We must love our selves before and while we love others because the latter is based on the former; Jesus' command is to love your neighbor as yourself. There is a clear distinction between selfishness and loving your self and the problem I have is thinking that 'loving Wesley' equals 'selfishness' and that 'self-degradation' equals 'humility.'
